PSY. 싸이 공연.

Last night I went to the PSY 싸이 Concert at Olympic Park, Jamsil...

It was sponsored by SONY...

PSY is a Korean hip hop artist...

...although I don't think all of his music is strictly hip hop...

PSY is probably one of the my favorite Korean singers... there is really no one like PSY in Korean music...

...one of his most famous features is the fact that he is not stereotypically beautiful, like most Korean men in entertainment...

....He looks like a genuine Korean 아저씨 man... but he is a brilliant dancer... 

He is fat...

... and he clearly hasn't had any plastic surgery...

His concert stage set-ups and graphics are quite amusing...

There was a giant blow-up baby (with PSY's face...)...

...holding a cigarette in one hand, and a bottle of soju in the other...

PSY is perhaps one of the most honest Korean singers...

...he seems to speak frankly about his life experience...

...he confesses that when he was younger, he was the 'King of nightclubs'...

(which is not something that Koreans would openly admit...)

...adding that he couldn't control his smoking, drinking, and partying in his younger years...

...and his lyrics reflect his regret and his frustrations...

I love K-pop (not all of it...but the genre in general...) ...

...but sometimes I feel that K-pop idols take themselves a little too seriously...they rarely improvise...

...PSY really pushes Korean music in a totally different direction...

...his style is so dissimilar to any other Korean singer ;
