Korean Summer.

Plans are slowly unravelling for Summer 2012...

... it's so warm right now, it feels like the tropical-heat Korean Summer is already knocking loudly...

... I didn't get to experience much of the Korean Summer last year...

...as my parents planned a one-month family trip in Europe in June/July 2011 for my mother's 50th birthday...

...I got stuck on a lavender farm with ZERO-WIFI...

...there were certainly no Koreans in the south of France...

...when I got back to Korea I didn't have a student visa to cover me any more...

...so I then rushed to Thailand and Vietnam to get another visa reissued...
...when I got back to Seoul I realized that the Korean Summer of 2011 had already passed in my absence...

Ideally,

I would like to take a few weeks in Summer to do a road trip around the whole of South Korea...

...through all of the mountainous and rural areas...

...of course, the best food in Korea is arguably in Jeollado 전라도 province...

...in the South-Western part of Korea...

...but I don't have any friends from that area...

...so I will probably find myself again in Busan or Daegu...

I am heading to Hong Kong next week to visit two Hong Kong bloggers...

One is a fashion illustrator/photographer and the other is an art gallery curator...

I visited Hong Kong on the way back from Israel almost 5 years ago...

...but I can't remember what I did in Hong Kong... as it was a really quick visit...

In June, next month, I have to visit Sydney to pick up my new visa, which is being sponsored by an Australian/Korean trading company...

...the problem is that I'm not from Sydney, I'm from the rural interior of Australia...

...so while I am somewhat familiar with Sydney and graduated there, I still feel quite like a tourist every time I visit...

My parents are also visiting Seoul in July...en route to Phuket...

...which is nerve-wracking because I never mention anything to them about Korea...

...and the difference between Broken Hill and Seoul is vast...
