Those Australians.

I'm ashamed to admit it...

...but I haven't been following any Australian media since I relocated to East Asia three years ago...

This failure to keep up with news in my home country suggests that I am either;

a) Super lazy

OR

b) Disillusioned with the way that the Australian media presents issues (i.e. refugee policies, immigration etc etc etc...)

...there is also a lot going on in South Korea at the moment...

...so I am already snowed under with Korean news...

...as this is a big election year in Korea (National Assembly, and Presidential election)...

If I look at foreign blogs, I generally read Hong Kong or European blogs exclusively...ㅋㅋㅋ

...Korean Naver 네이버 blogs are all handbags and coffee shops (sad...but true...)

...I read one or two blogs by Korean-Americans as well...

So... with that in mind, I was a little surprised when I found an Australian blogger, last night...

... who I actually think is very cool...

Her name is Margaret Zhang, and I think I like her partially because she is a law student in Sydney... (*nostalgia..*)

...I don't know how well-known she is in Australia...but she was photographed at New York Fashion Week quite a lot...

...I know from my university days that the workload for law students is fairly oppressive...

...so it is quite *wow* that she can manage her Commerce/Law degree at Sydney University while also managing a successful media/modelling/blogging career...

What makes it more amazing is that SHE IS ONLY 18 YEARS OLD...

...again... *wow*...

...I started my law degree almost 10 years ago...I feel super old...

I have an attraction to composition-focused pictures... so I don't look at faces...

...but more often the shapes and the contours of the scenery plus subject... (as wanky as that may sound...)

...and I think that Margaret Zhang is quite smart in that all her pictures seem to have movement and a certain balance of color...

Did I mention that she is also a BALLET DANCER? ...

...I think that's why she moves so well in her pictures...

...what can't she do...?

(I have a sneaking suspicion that she also plays the viola...and the harp...she might also speak fluent Swahili...)

I think she is also a good ambassador for Australia...

...as (in the past...) Australian women were generally associated with  freakishly chesty blondes...

...this following image is not an image I like to identify with culturally...as an Australian ;

...so I think Australia needs to move away from the above image (if it hasn't already...in my 3 year absence...)

... and embrace something slightly more sophisticated...

...like someone who perhaps prefers a full-cricket uniform...
