Brave New World.

Spring is in the air in Seoul (almost?) and it is clear that some things are about to change...

...Korea is an isolated peninsula...

...but the winds of uncertainty are blowing and Obama will be flying to Seoul again soon for the 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit... (that sounds like a fun picnic...)

...does this mean anything for North Korea/South Korean relations?

...maybe not...maybe it's going to be about Iran...(?)

Something else on the topic of 'change' that I noticed this week...

Paris Fashion Week front row in 2012 is looking less American...

... and more like this;

Out with the American starlets...and in with the Chinese...

So we can take a guess and say that the influence of China is pretty much cemented for the forseeable future...

...and it will only be a year to 18 months (I suspect..don't quote me...) until we can almost certainly see Chinese faces on billboards in every country (including Korea?)...

I feel like Korea might be a little too late to the party on this one...

...I feel like the Korean government is so distracted by the Korea/US FTA (and the protests surrounding it) that they have failed to position themselves correctly for a (potential?) massive global culture shift...

...The signing of the Korea/US Free Trade Agreement was based on the premise that the US economy will bounce back very quickly...

...but who can say when that will likely be on the horizon...(?)

...the most cashed up tourists in Seoul are almost always Chinese...

...but the Korean government seems to miss that point frequently...(I see Chinese tourists getting seriously bullied in Korean customs regularly ㅠ.ㅠ...possibly because they have a Chinese Passport -.-;)

(there are still ongoing diplomatic conflicts between China and Korea...loooong loooong story...)

With a (*predicted*) paradigm shift towards India, China, and Brazil (and Russia?)...

...I am not exactly sure of where Korea will sit in a new global climate...
