(Marilyn Monroe entertaining US troops in Korea 1954)
Did Marilyn Monroe ever travel to Australia?
I don't know.
She did most certainly travel to South Korea.
Every now and again military pictures of Marilyn Monroe's 1954 visit crop up in Korean men's magazines, as if to say; 'The hottest American girl in history had a great time in Korea'.
It is true, Marilyn Monroe did have this to say about her trip to visit American troops in Korea;
Korea...
"was the best thing that ever happened to me. I never felt like a star before in my heart. It was so wonderful to look down and see a fellow smiling at me."

We don't know if this quote was used to 'boost morale', but she certainly seemed positive about entertaining the US troops in Korea. In just four days, Marilyn 'entertained' 100,000 troops.
